The production of tanks in Tavana Company is done during the initial design stages - design approval - testing and finally obtaining the type approval certificate.
Produced cylinders under international standards are evaluated and approved by expert teams in Tavana Company, and party inspection companies and various certifications are obtained.
To design different types of tanks, in addition to using computational formulas (under international and national standards), analysis of design analytical software is also used to obtain design data.
- Determining technical characteristics:
After determining the chemical, physical, mechanical characteristics and their resistance to stress-corrosion, effective materials (steel, fibers, resins, etc.) are selected according to the conditions of the cylinder use.
Also, the mechanical analysis of steel failure is performed and according to it, the maximum allowable defect size in the cylinders is determined and the following facilities are provided:
Determining the limits of non-destructive evaluation to be performed on the production line (NDE Defect size)
Guaranteeing the cylinder fatigue life
Demonstration of leakage before hypothetical cylinder break (LBB)
Cylinder surface protection is a function of the different environmental conditions of use and the various corrosion parameters that the cylinder may come in contact with.
To design each new cylinder in Tavana, tests and prototype design analyzes are performed by an independent and impartially approved inspection organization to issue the necessary approvals. All the necessary test work to obtain the approvals, according to the specified specifications, is performed using its internal equipment and facilities (certification laboratory) in Tavana.
These tests include mechanical properties testing and fatigue/burst testing, fire testing, bullet penetration testing, and advanced tests on full-scale cylinders such as environmental testing, high-temperature testing, gas pressure cycle testing, and more. In addition, several material tests are performed, such as stress corrosion cracking (SSC).
And Finally, the type approval is issued for the desired tank.
- Production series tests:
In addition to the initial tests to confirm the type, regular tests are performed to meet the requirements of the standard and regulations, which are called production category tests:
1 - Raw materials:
- Mechanical tests: strength (yield and tension), elongation, Charpy impact test
- Chemical analysis on prototype cylinders (outsourcing)
2- Test during production:
During production, the cylinders are exposed to the following according to the relevant standard:
- Hardness test
- Hydraulic test (proof test or volumetric expansion).
- Leak test
- Ultrasonic test (to detect defects and measure wall thickness)
- Critical and neck dimension
- Complete internal and external levels
- Magnetic test if needed
- If necessary, assembly test (valve and tank)
- Batch tests (to be produced)
- Burst test
- Cyclic test
- Mechanical properties Test
